Happy Monday. No, I truly hope that you all are off to a GREAT start, because mine has been less than ideal, to say the least.
But lets back up to the weekend!
I got my hairs did by Jennifer at Bang Salon at Verizon Center. She is so great with color and cuts, I just tell her to do what she thinks will look good and trust her completely. We figured out that I’ve been seeing her for about five years now! Of course, I couldn’t go all Miley or anything since I have to pull it all up into a pretty up-do for the weeding this weekend!
Then Hubs and I met up and went to Rasika. The restaurant describes its menu as “Modern Indian Cuisine” and it’s easy to get a reservation – if you try at least four weeks out! I seriously booked our Friday night reservation OVER six weeks ago. I took him there once like four years ago when we first started dating, and we had a terrible experience, which was a complete surprise as I had always LOVED it. But because of that, we hadn’t been back. OMG I am so glad he was willing to give it another shot. It was AHmazing. I want to go back every Friday night!
- Ragda Patties – Spiced potato / chick peas / tamarind date / mint chutney
- Palak Chaat – Crispy baby spinach / sweet yogurt / tamarind / date chutney
- Chicken Green Masala- Chicken / mint / coriander / ground spices
- Chicken Tikka Masala – National dish of England
- Naan and Truffle Naan
We already have reservations for November when friends come into town!
We spent time with Husband Number 2 and the adopted in-laws on their new boat! Despite not perfect weather, the time spent together couldn’t have been better! I loved their last boat, and this, well…I’m looking forward to more invites!
I’m an Auntie again! Our dear, dear friends welcomed their second baby girl into the world late last week and Sunday we got to meet her! Plus, her big sister turns two while we are in Vermont for the wedding, so it was fun to give her a birthday gift as well!
The rest of Sunday included a face plant into the couch, which was the worst thing I could have done all weekend considering the number of errands I need to run before our afternoon flight tomorrow. Especially considering…drum roll…wait for it…my car died this morning! I thought I heard something funny happen while driving to the gas station, but it didn’t seem like a big deal. BUT after I pumped gas, my car wouldn’t start! Hubs had to come back from the office and save me. That part actually made me feel like an idiot. Prior to dating Hubs or being married, I would have solved the problem myself. But the first thing I did when I couldn’t get it to start was call him. And then nearly explode in tears considering the number of lunchtime and evening errands I need to run for our trip tomorrow.
Everything is okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.
Good thing I really believe in this quote! Hope your Monday is off to a stronger start than mine!
