Thank goodness for short weeks.
And long weekends.
Ah yes, long weekends! This Labor Day weekend was a GEM! Saturday morning was wonderful – down 2.2 pounds at WW, two rounds of Pumpkin Starbucks (certainly I only needed one…), kayaking with Jess (OMG it was so beautiful and we are going to go again this weekend!) and a moonlight cruise around the monuments with H. Sunday we visited our dear friends’ new baby (congrats Chuck and Kristen!) and had a hardcore “so we’re combining our finances and bills cause we’re gettin’ hitched” talk. Our combined expenses make me queasy! Monday was the big day – Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Boise State Broncos. It was an awesome tailgate and exciting game, despite our loss at the tail end.
Now it’s back to the grind, but only for a few days. This weekend I am psyched for more beautiful, fall-ish weather! I hope that we can make it kayaking again, H and I are meeting up with one of H’s groomsmen and his family (we finally get to meet their baby!) and more wedding errands. My list is getting shorter. I’m sure it will only get longer before I’m done!
Friday is our RSVP deadline for invites. This is what my guest list looks like right now:
All of that white space represents folks we haven’t heard from yet! So far we are at 81 yes, 46 no, and 94 we haven’t heard from! I am actually assuming MOST of those are not attending. At last estimated count we are going to be at around 125. We invited 224, budgeted for 185, and actually expected 165. I’m a little disappointed that the number is lower, but understand why most of the no’s can’t make it. And in reality – it saves us a TON of money. So there are lots of ways to look at it. REGARDLESS I am SO excited. 32 days!
32 days!
32 days – I should get my little workout fanny in gear! H and I did a GREAT 4 mile walk on Monday before the game, but I’ve got to step it up! My trainer actually had her baby 6 weeks early (she’s doing okay!) so I’m without her for the duration. I’m going to step it up on my own and make sure I maintain – if not lose a little – between now and the big day. Most of all, I love the way I feel when I work out and it’s such a great stress reliever. Must not cancel the AM alarm (like today…).

I’ve so enjoyed your updates! Very exciting indeed! You absolutely glow, girl!
Thanks MJ! When is your big day? I didn’t miss it did I?!
Totally awesome Gwen! Love the photos and the weekly recap. Sounds like fun – I’ve never been kayaking but you make me want to try it out sometime. If you want an online coach, I’ll be happy to email you daily to see how your workouts are going! 32 days! Woot!!!
THANKS Christy! I totally appreciate the offer
Reading your inspiring running stories should keep reminding me to keep at it! I’ll let you know if I need more support though!
