I don’t want our wedding to have a “theme.” It feels so prom-esque. Rather, I want our wedding to have a feel or vibe that is influenced by the colors we choose and the little details and accents to set the mood – without being cheesy and defined.
We are getting married in the fall in Vermont. Which conjures a beautiful, specific image in your head, no? And it would be easy to let fall spill all over our wedding in reds, yellows, and orange flowers and leaves covering every inch of the decor inside matching the outside. Not so much.
Overall I’m trying to bring a modern, rustic charm feel to our wedding. Embracing the wedding locale and Vermonty-ness while bringing lots of special details I’ve seen from weddings on the internets and a bold pink and orange accent color scheme. I don’t want it to look like a pink and orange color explosion, just a thoughtful touch.
More than anything, I want our wedding to feel warm. Homegrown, special and very centered on love, family and friends. With a couple of mini pumpkins and fabulous pink shoes.
Below is the inspiration board I put together to try an explain my vision to H!
I want to pull in trees as well – family tree, and roots and all of that. And I love the birch vases and tree stands!
So many beautiful details! I’m hoping to bring them all together and make them ours. Because regardless if our wedding ends up having a theme or just a wonderful vibe, it’s our wedding. And it’s going to be amazing.
Meanwhile, 200 cocktail napkins with our names on it just arrived in the mail, in orange and pink. I just couldn’t help myself…

Looks like you have some good ideas so far! I like the orange & pink!
I honestly can’t imagine a Gwen wedding with only autumn colors and NO pink representation. But the “orange and pink color explosion” made me laugh!
