In preparing my thoughts for Fat Talk Free Week and thinking about the things that I want to share here, I’ve really examined how I react to people out and about and on TV. Consciously thinking. It is hard to change the way I view myself and others. I’ve made an effort this weekend to eliminate Fat Talk from my own inner dialogue. It’s hard! But it’s doable. And necessary.
When you Google “fat” online or pull out the trusty (dusty) Webster’s you will get a definition. It will likely mention glycerol and acids, lard and lipids. You’ll get mono, poly and unsaturated. You might get a reference to size and perhaps even an overabundance of flesh.
You will not see a picture of yourself, or anyone. Webster is not judging you.
So why are you judging yourself?
I’m really committed to the idea that we can live in a Fat Talk Free world. And I will make that start here in my little sphere. I hope you will endeavor to do this same.

“Webster is not judging you.” I love that.
